RE: Manufacturers: who has staying power

What if Monaco changed the names of the Knight to Ambassador and the total is now more than the Phaeton? That is the crux of my observation and the number he does not want you to see. The Knight and the Ambassador are built in the same plant on the same line and are basically identical coaches, but he does not want us to compare apples to apples.

RE: Used Brake Buddy Ok?

Ours is the original square metal box and 10 years old. had one problem when it was 5 years old, called the factory and they took care of the repair with no charge. As others have said, stay away from the newer models and stick with the classic or older. We won't trade ours for anything else, as it has and still serves us well.

OK, you win. I will unsubscribe from the snowbird forum until after Christmas, when we can get back. I can't take anymore of the Gonzales burger pix, the drool is ruining my computer. :B :B

RE: Archview Campground in Moab?

I do Bent Arrow. :S With $150.00 needed for permits, and this is probably one or last rides this season, we are going to just head up to Rabbit Valley. It's new to us so we should have fun. :BThis permit business is killing their tourist business and they can't see it. We won't spend any time in a state that charges us to ride our ATV, so in the case of CO, they lose probably $100/day over a $25 permit. Idaho wants those without reciprocity to register also, but the charge is a measly $4, as they know who spends money, their tourist.

RE: LOW NUMBERS OF RV'ERS TO MEXICO

All this talk is really disturbing to one who is about to make a first RV trek into Mexico. Worrying about every little possible traffic infraction, real or "made up", that can result in fines up to $200.00 just because I have US license plates will likely distract me enough while driving to cause me to do something illegal because I will not be able to concentrate on the task at hand - driving safely! No wonder folks decide not to travel to Mexico with this kind of talk.Jim, We drove thousands of miles, all over Mexico this past winter both in our RV and in our toad, from the Gulf to the Pacific, small villages to mega cities and then up the coast. Not once in any of those months were we stopped or even think we were being watched by the Police. On one occasion we had to have the Police stop all traffic in a village so we could get turned around and back out of a bad situation I put us in, small streets, BIG RV. LOL. The Police were absolutely the best, in the way they handled the situation and never once said anything to concern me. Go and enjoy yourself and don't worry about getting stopped as the probability is is very low. If you do get stopped, follow the advice Moisheh gave a few post earlier and you will not have any problems. DO NOT pay a roadside bribe, if you are stopped.

RE: battery box vent hose? where can i get one?

Any Marine supply store will have them, as the USCG requires all batteries be vented on a boat.

RE: Garmin GPS, #NUV1205 or #NUV1205W

Chuck, We just bought a nuvi 680 on Ebay for $185 and it is a lot more GPS than the 205W. Here is a link to the GPS Magazine with a wealth of information and reviews. I looked at the 205W yesterday and found it to be a sales leader for this holiday season, with many better units for the same money available on Ebay.

RE: Probably not the best idea Big 3 if it is true

Do you honestly think the public would have let these men on a public Airplane with out harassing them all the to D.C.? It would have been a mob scene. Then maybe they would understand the feelings of the average Joe, if they came out of their ivory tower and walked among us. The Ford CEO showed his true colors when asked if he would forgo his salary for the year and he said NO, he was comfortable earning what he did.............$30+ Million dollars.

RE: Used value

This is an interesting line of thought. I can see where you are coming from, with so little choice of new units, after the economy turns around. You know the price of new units will increase with the prevailing increase of the economy. As the new units prices increase, I can see where good, clean used units would also increase accordingly. Will you make a killing, very doubtful, but will you get better than you are right now, probably.

RE: Probably not the best idea Big 3 if it is true

SOP of the fat cats from both the Big 3 and the UAW. I sent my Senator and Congress Person an Email saying enough is enough. Let them file for Chapter 11 and see what happens. When the outrageous wages and benefits($71/hr) are back where the rest of America stands, then I will start supporting them again.

RE: Archview Campground in Moab?

Did you know you now need Utah permits for your ATVs and dirt bikes at $30 each. Not any more, if your state is now on the list of states with reciprocity rights. Ours is registered in Idaho and we did not have to purchase the old style, out of state permit this year. They also changed the law this year, so that if your state has street legal registration, then you can ride on many streets/roads in rural Utah.

RE: Manufacturers: who has staying power

I would love to see that data but I'd also be very prepared for the heated discussions that would follow. That is my point, why pick 3 lines of information from a report and say I made my case. Put the report out for all to see and then there is no doubt that the case was made. Until that full report is made public by the one member who quoted it, I too will have my doubts that it is accurate.

RE: Manufacturers: who has staying power

I love it when people throw numbers out as the truth!!! First day of my college statistics class, I quote the Prof, "Remember one thing from this class, numbers lie and liars use numbers". Any statistic can be skewed to say anything you want. My question is why did you pick just one model from one manufacture to try and sell your numbers? You say you have access to the end numbers for all, so publish those numbers, not just the ones you need to try and make your case.

RE: travel centers of America

Have found TA to always be more expensive than Flying J and in one place the difference was .30 cents a gallon. I do use their truck/RV lube service as it is usually lower than the competition.

RE: Archview Campground in Moab?

Trail riding from the CG is awesome, but IMHO the place is over priced. Unless you need full hook ups, why not boondock 1 mile north of the CG or directly west of the CG and ride. We just spent a week boondocking 1 mile north on BLM lands and had a ball riding the trails.
